SEKI MAGOROKU REEDWOOD NAKIRI 16.5 CM

The Seki Magoroku Redwood series of chef's knives features robust stainless steel quality and typically Japanese features. With their highly polished blades, the series includes single- and double-edged knives that share the common denominators of stable, well-balanced functionality and sharpness.

The design combines a minimalist basic form with traditional Japanese aesthetics. The name comes from the use of red pakkawood, from which the handle is made. The pakkawood handle is particularly durable and withstands moisture very well.

The blades in the Seki Magoroku Redwood series are made of 1K6 carbon stainless steel with a hardness of 58 (± 1) HRC. Both the double- and single-edged knives feature long-lasting edge retention and excellent sharpness. The single-sided grinding traditionally used for Japanese blade shapes minimizes friction between the blade and the cut material, thus allowing for particularly precise cuts, as required for sushi preparation.

Its handle, with its traditional chestnut shape, is made of pakka wood. High-quality resins added to the wood make the material exceptionally resistant, even to moisture. The handle tapers toward the blade and sits comfortably in the hand. The handle and blade fit together and are firmly connected by a glossy black plastic ferrule.
