Sandvik 12C27 stainless steel developed by Opinel is renowned for its cut and ease of use. Stainless steel is capable of undergoing heat treatment that gives it great durability and is called martensitic. It has a large amount of carbon, at least 0.40%, which allows a very satisfactory cut to be achieved without being sensitive to corrosion. Blade hardness 57-58 HRC

MANGO

Finnish birch is a white wood. We use it in dyed and joined sheets to shape our handles and give them a zebra effect.

SAFETY RING

Invented by Marcel Opinel, the Virobloc safety ring is on all knives that close from No. 06 on. Cut from stainless steel, the Virobloc is made up of two parts: a fixed part and a sliding part. In addition to locking the blade in the open position (safety of use), it is now possible to close the blade in the closed position (safe transport).
